Gond art is a form of painting from folk and tribal art that is practiced by one of the largest tribes in India – the Gond – who are predominantly from Madhya Pradesh but also can be found in pockets of Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh. Details of the tribe:-
Gond tribes are a group of indigenous peoples of central and south-central India, about two million in number.
They live in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha. The majority speak variously and, in part, the mutually unintelligible language of Gondi, an unwritten language of the Dravidian family. Some Gond has lost their language and speaks Hindi, Marathi, or Telugu, depending on which is dominant in their area.
