Surrounded by hillocks, covered with the semi-tropical forest and a mainland of tribal community situated in the southernmost part of Chhattisgarh. Since generations, the tribal community of Dantewada has shared a close and harmonious relationship with the surrounding natural resources. Looking at this scenario and with the hope to build the livelihood of the community by leveraging the strength of indigenous knowledge, efforts to conserve traditional seeds and crops and promote organic forming were started.
These paintings use a very basic graphic vocabulary ; a circle , a triangle and a square . The circle represents sun &moon Triangle represents mountain. Its best example of simplicity about lifestyle.Traditionally ,The base is prepared by mixture of earth and cow dung, making a red ochre background for the wall paintings. White pigment is a mixture of rice paste and water with gum as a binding . Bamboo stick is used as supply as a paintbrush.
