The elephant towel hanger product is handmade, there may be slight variation in color or design, which is natural and hence makes the product unique. This product is made of dhokra art and it’s handcrafted by tribal artisans. Dhokra is the lost wax process to cast hollow brass objects and images. Wipe it only with a piece of lightly wet cloth.

The craft takes its name from the Dhokra Damar tribe of West Bengal, distant relatives of the Gonds and Ghadwas of Central India. They are located in Odisha, Jharkhand, Bengal, Chhattisgarh. They lived under a blanket of stars and the shade of trees, hawking bracelets, anklets, earrings, wristbands, necklaces, and idols of gods and goddesses, besides utilitarian pieces such as combs, lamps, bowls, betel boxes, and cups. Around a hundred years ago, some Jhara tribesmen settled in Ektaal village. |
